The Apple Wireless keyboard for mac has become a classic

Not so long ago I purchased the Apple’s Wireless keyboard to go with my iMac. Suddenly my desk was a tidier place, free from the extra cables my former keyboard had required. The Wireless keyboard was also about two thirds of the size making it prettier to look at as well as freeing up valuable desktop real-estate. Installation was easy enough and at the end of the day the keyboard works well. If there was one drawback, it would be the time it takes for the keyboard to wake up when I first start up the iMac. From there on in the connection is seamless, so it’s not a lot to complain about.

Logitech takes computer audio to a new level with Z906

There’s nothing new about bad quality audio from desktop computers. On the positive side, Logitech has been making decent multimedia speaker systems for years. With the arrival of the Z906 THX Certified speaker system, things just got a whole lot better for desktop audio. Weighing in at 500 watts, the Z906 sports 4 wall-mountable sattelites featuring 3 inch drivers, a horizontal center channel and a subwoofer powered by 165 of the 500 watts. A separate box features a volume knob, input controls and signal overview. Round the back of the box are a series of digital and analogue inputs (optical, coax, RCA) meaning that you can connect your DVD player, cable box, PS3, and iPod at the same time.

The keys on the Logitech MK520 offer a smooth and comfortable typing experience, something you won’t often find on cheaper keyboards, and although some of the function keys aren’t included, the most necessary media controls are there. Functional elegance – even in the dark

The Logitech k800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard is an elegant enough keyboard even for the sophisticated tastes of mac users. It’s so thin that it really won’t detract from the clean, uncluttered space of the type of minimalist desktop Apple users are famed for. The only drawback for some might be Logitech’s trademark dark grey color. Maybe they should launch a brushed aluminium series that would be sure to catch the eye of even the most hardcore Apple purist.

That said, this is a truly versatile keyboard. The keys are backlit, although only the character itself, thereby avoiding additional visual distraction. The backlighting function itself turns on and off automatically based on the proximity of your hand, while ‘the PerfectStroke key system distributes typing force evenly across key surfaces, making every keystroke comfortable, fluid, and whisper-quiet.’ Compatible with the Logitech® Unifying receiver, the k800 is fully wireless, allowing a wireless mouse to be added with out the need for extra USB connectivity.
